Coming together to achieve diversity and inclusion.

#YETNorth - The Power of Community

The #YouEqualTech community started in 2017 in London and is slowly becoming a leading community, making change happen through their meetups and network. With over 3000 people in the London group we felt it was time to bring #YouEqualTech to the North to expand its reach and impact

With diversity and inclusion at the forefront, our goal is to connect the technology and digital industry to the outside world, through learning, sharing initiatives and having the opportunity to hear and see role models from under-represented groups in tech. #YouEqualTechNorth (#YETNorth) will be holding regular events and each one will aim to provide practical advice on driving diversity within the technology industry.

Join us at Barclays Eagle Lab on Tuesday 9th April where we’ll be kicking off the series of #YETNorth events with a celebration of community!

Whether you’re working in tech already, or are thinking of making the leap, #YETNorth events are about coming together to learn from others in this space - and meeting new people who can support and champion you in your career.

Our speakers will be sharing their experience of the impact of community on their lives and careers. They'll also be sharing actionable advice on finding "your tribe" and building strong support systems around you.

We'll be joined by:

Beckie Taylor, Co-Founder of Tech Returners

Beckie is an Ambassador for Tech and Women in Leadership, and the Co-founder of Women in Technology Northern Chapter. In 2017, she launched Tech Returners to empower returners in tech by creating accessible routes into businesses through continual training and technology, resulting in more diverse and inclusive workforces.

This work has seen the project shortlisted in the Northern Power Women awards for Innovation 2018 and for E-skills Initiative of the Year at the Women in IT awards 2019 for its practical guidance and personal development coaching.

Beckie has also recently launched a Tech Future Female Leaders programme where female tech leaders develop themselves to succeed, inspiring others through being role models.
