Positive Disruption: Tech that’s changing our world for the better

Where positive social impact is the mission, tech is a powerful tool and in April we’re teaming up with Trainline to celebrate some of the incredible people and businesses who are using technology to change our world for the better.

A career in tech can unlock an unlimited potential for creativity and social change and our speakers will share tips and advice from their experience of using tech to tackle social challenges. We’ll hear what’s driven them on their mission and how they’ve overcome the hurdles they’ve faced along the way.

Panelists:

Clare has been CEO of Trainline since 2014. She has led the business through a period of rapid growth, investing in mobile and AI innovation and supplier/market expansion. Trainline now operates in 35 countries selling tickets on behalf of over 130 carriers, all in one simple app. Prior to Trainline, Clare was VP UK/Greater Europe for eBay and was at BCG and Unilever.

Clare holds a Bachelor of Commerce (International) degree from University College Dublin and was ranked amongst 'Europe's Top 40 under 40' leaders in 2012, as well as a finalist in Veuve Cliquot's Businesswoman of the Year. She is an active mentor in the tech/small business space.

She left her job in healthcare and set up Live Better With to change that.

Live Better With is the single port of call for people living with cancer around the world to discover everyday practical support for their symptoms and side effects. They do this by working hand-in-hand with the community to (a) create and curate relevant, trusted and helpful information and products and (b) encourage sharing and connections between those going through the same experience.
